14. ATMOSPHERIC MONITORING
Another use of drones in GIS is to monitor the atmospheric condition of an area. Drones are used to gather data about the earth surface and the atmosphere. Information collected help to predict the climatic condition of certain areas. It also helps foresee certain atmospheric disasters like hurricane and tornadoes. For instance, NASA has already put their drone, Global Hawk, to use looking for hurricane activity. Imagery and data gathered by these drones can be used to create a climatic blueprint of an area.
